Police authorities in Ondo State have arrested Prophetess Folashade Kikiowo Adekola over the unfortunate deaths of a 28-year-old woman, Jumoke Adesuwa, and her newborn child.

According to media reports, the incident occurred after Adesuwa suffered serious bleeding from childbirth complications at Adekola’s church, Christ Engracing Deliverance Ministry, located in the Oke-Aro area of Akure.

The victim had reportedly gone to the church without informing her husband, Ayodele Adesuwa, for a “spiritual” preparation for childbirth, staying there for several days.

Despite prior financial support from her husband to seek care at a government hospital, she chose to remain in the church for the delivery.

The newborn died immediately, and Adesuwa, found in a critical condition, was rushed to multiple hospitals.

However, she was rejected due to her worsening state and eventually, she died in the final hospital that accepted her.

Upon discovering the disturbing state of the church’s makeshift delivery room, Adesuwa’s family reported the matter to the Oke-Aro Police Station, prompting the prophetess’s arrest.
