Kogi State, Nigeria – March 12, 2025- Six children have been tragically killed in a brutal attack by unidentified gunmen in Ogbe Forest, Kogi State.
The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the incident, which occurred on the evening of March 9, 2025.
According to intelligence sources, the victims were tending to their cattle when the assailants stormed the area and opened fire.
The attack, which took place around 7:00 PM, left all six children dead at the scene.
Their identities have not yet been disclosed to the public.
The victims’ relatives reported the gruesome incident to local authorities on March 11, prompting police operatives to visit the scene.
Upon arrival, officers documented the site and took photographs of the decomposed remains of the victims.
A preliminary investigation into the attack has since commenced.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we are working diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime,” a police source stated.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no group has claimed responsibility at this time.
The incident has sparked outrage and concern among local communities, with calls for heightened security measures in the region.
