Gunmen suspected to be terror bandits launched a vicious attack on Dandume Local Government Area in Katsina State, leaving at least six people dead and over 56 others abducted.
According to media reports, the armed criminals arrived on motorcycles in the wee hours of Monday and opened fire indiscriminately, killing six individuals.
During the raid, they kidnapped at least 56 villagers, taking them away to an unknown location.
“Bandits just kidnapped 56 persons at Dandume in Katsina State and killed six persons this morning; we’re on our way there now for reinforcement,” a security source said.
Meanwhile, Katsina State police command is yet to issue an official statement in respect to the development.
