There is serious tension in Ilesha Baruba community in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, as gunmen launched a vicious attack on a local motor park, leaving four people dead and two others critically injured.
News Band gathered that about 10 armed men stormed the park around 9:30pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, and began shooting indiscriminately at individuals gathered at a nearby relaxation spot.
Among the victims confirmed dead are Alhaji Ja’awire, Abduljabar, and Mohammed Nasamu, along with three others whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
Security operatives responded to the scene, where the deceased were taken to the Ilesha Baruba morgue for autopsy.
The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
Kwara State police command is yet to issue an official statement in respect to the unfortunate incident.
