Drama as Enugu High Court Judge Withdraws From APGA/Oye Suit

Published

There was a mild drama at the Enugu High Court on Tuesday at the continued trial of the case instituted by the sacked former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance [APGA], Ozo Victor Oye.

The drama trailed the attempted manipulation by the former APGA chairman.

Victor Oye is seeking to upturn the decisions of Hon. Justice A.R. Ozoemena of the Enugu High Court at Court 2, presided over by Hon. Justice Onuora.

Justice Ozoemena had given effect to his sack by the NWC of APGA.

The first salvo came with a reprimand by the judge who queried the fixing of the matter today 20/6/17 by clerks of the Court without his knowledge.

The fixing, it was gathered, was at the prompting of one Barrister Peter Eze who is neither a party nor counsel in the matter, rather acting ostensibly on the behest of Oye.

Next knock from the judge came with the reading in open court a letter written and sent to his home informing him of the plot to expose the underhand dealings which a party in the suit had entered with him.

Further to that the judge ruled that he would be unable to continue with the matter owing to undue pressure mounted on him by an interested party in the suit.

He, therefore, accordingly returned the file back to the chief judge of Enugu State for reassignment to another court.

Once again, Victor Oye came out short and left disappointed.
