Tears, Encomium As Ocha Boss, Courageous Result-Driven Captain Goes Home

Gov Willie Obiano has described the late managing director of the state’s Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, (OCHA Brigade), Chief Kenneth Okonkwo as a fearless leader who brooked no hindrance in his way to achieving results. 

The governor who spoke at the service of songs organized for the late Okonkwo at his compound in Enugwu Village, Umuawulu, in Awka South Council Area yesterday noted that he was very courageous and diligent in the discharge of his duties, not minding whose ox was gored.

It was all tears as Okonkwo, 45, died in a ghastly car crash and was the Managing Director/Superintendent General of OCHA Brigade, the governor noted would be greatly missed for his laudable contributions towards the growth and development of the state, and prayed for the repose of his soul and to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Traditional Ruler of Nibo, HRH Igwe Ezeike Ngene who commended Gov Obiano for the confidence bestowed on the late Okonkwo to be part of his administration, recalled how he helped restore sanity and cleanliness, especially in every market across the state, adding that for one to execute his duties effectively, he must tread on people’s toes, thereby attracting hatred to himself.

In his homily, the Chaplain of the Governor’s lodge, Rev Fr Patrick Okafor urged Christians to always be prepared for the life after here on earth by leading righteous lives, so as to face death with happiness at any given time.
