
Hon. Chudi Offodile and Chief Osita Chidoka are now battle ready for the United Progressive Party (UPP) 2017 Anambra governorship primary election.
This is as the duo of Offodile and Chidoka qualified for primary election following the UPP screening exercise.
The exercise took place at the UPP National Secretariat, Finance Quarters, Wuye District, Abuja on 12th august, 2017.
Following the screening, UPP issued a press release signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Ogbuehi Dike.
Therein, it announced the qualification in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act in its preparation for the 18th November Governorship Election in Anambra State.
At the close of nomination on Thursday, 10th August, 2017, the Screening Committee of the Party led by the National Secretary, Alhaji Sadeeq Masalla screened the two aspirants who fulfilled the requirements of the Party to be screened.

Hon. Offodile, on his part, was a two term member of the House of Representatives while Chief Chidoka was former Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps and immediate past Minister of Aviation.
Following the report of the Screening Committee, the Party confirmed that Hon. Chudi Offodile and Chief Osita Chidoka are eligible to participate in its Primary Election scheduled to hold on Saturday 19th August 2017, at Awka, Anambra State.
UPP, thereafter, reassured all the members of the Party and the general public that in compliance with its commitment and pledge, the Primary Election shall be transparent, credible and a level playing ground provided for all the accredited delegates and aspirants contesting for the Party gubernatorial ticket.
All relevant stakeholders especially the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], pro-democracy agencies and organizations, as well as local and foreign media, shall be accredited to observe and monitor the Primary Election Proceedings.
It will be recalled that all delegates that will participate in the Election have since been published in the UPP website consistent with the transparency that the party promised.
