Mairi village, Wanori in Konduga came under sudden and brutal Boko Haram attack on Friday evening according to NewsRescue.

According to the news media outfit, dozens of terrorists reportedly had a field day as they stormed the village without military resistance.

This is happening barely a week after Boko Haram attacked Dailori and Walonri villages, outskirts of Maiduguri, on Saturday, January 30 leaving scores dead and other scores injured and the entire village razed.

Fierce gun battle, preceded by explosions was reported between troops and members of Boko Haram terrorist when the dare-devil insurgents attacked.

Residents, including students of University of Maiduguri took cover in the nearby bushes while the exchange lasted.

These unfortunate incidents are happening just as President Buhari has assured the world in faraway Ethiopia that all Boko Haram strongholds have been overran leaving them hapless and helpless.

Earlier in January, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has confidently declared that the federal troops have defeated the insurgents “technically”.
