Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has praised Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

He said that the Governor has brought back faith in government through his superlative projects delivery at a time people are losing faith in government.

He spoke in Port Harcourt  on Friday in continuation of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s eventful one year in office,  when commissioned  the

Rumueprikom-Rumuolumeni road  leading  to  key economic  outlets , the Ignatius  Ajuru University of Education and  Naval  Warship  NNS Pathfinder.

The Deputy Senate President declared that contrary to the false reports being circulated by the media, Rivers State is peaceful, with Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike delivering on projects and transforming the state.

He said: “I can see people working together, I can see a state government in action.

I can see a governor  committed to  the  transformation  of  the  state and a governor  determined to use the opportunity  given  to  him  by the people  of  the  state to the  benefit  of  the  people.

“I am happy to see that the governor has brought faith to government when people are losing faith in  government. “

The Deputy Senate President also commissioned the Elioparanwo Road in Ward 9 of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Both roads were awarded by the immediate past administration, but abandoned at less than 40 percent completion.

He also flagged off the construction of the Tam-David West Boulevard (Obiri-Ikwerre road), an alternative route to the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike explained  that  the  Rumueprikom-Rumuolumeni  remains critical  to  the  economy  of  the  state.

This is because of the presence of several  international  companies along  the route.

“This road also leads to the Ignatius  Ajuru  University  of  Education  and the Naval Warship NNS  Pathfinder.

Therefore, we were under obligation  to  fulfil our promise to the people and also take actions to expand the economy  of the state”.

Commenting at the commissioning  of  the  Elioparanwo Road,  Governor  Wike  said  that  the  road is relevant  to one of the most populous communities  in Obio/Akpor  Local Government Area  which determines the direction  of  election  results.

The  governor  stated that  the  decision  to  construct  the  Obiri-Ikwerre road was taken during the Holy Ghost  Rally in  Port Harcourt.
