Ezenwafor declares Anambra blueprint, promises governance with joy

(DDM) – A major statement of intent has been made in the build-up to the 2025 Anambra governorship election as Ambassador Sir Jude Christopher Ezenwafor, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), officially unveiled his manifesto, pledging to deliver what he described as “joy, confidence, and modern governance” to the people of the state.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Ezenwafor’s manifesto was formally presented with the theme “Don’t Fret, Joy is Coming,” which the campaign team described as a symbolic assurance to Ndi Anambra that better days are ahead.

The campaign highlighted the plan as not merely a policy document, but a carefully designed milestone intended to restore faith in democratic governance.

Speaking during the launch, Hon. Nwafor Richard Nwali, a close associate and campaign official, declared that the PDP’s candidate has mapped out strategies to sustain democracy, rebuild state institutions, and revive public confidence in leadership.

He said the manifesto would serve as a compass for reform, development, and people-centered governance if Ezenwafor emerges victorious.

Ambassador Ezenwafor is no newcomer to the political space.

He previously served as a Special Adviser during the administration of former Governor Peter Obi and has remained a consistent voice within the PDP.

His candidacy is considered by analysts as an attempt by the party to reclaim political dominance in Anambra, a state where the PDP once held significant influence but gradually lost ground to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The PDP in Anambra has endured internal divisions in recent years, with factional disputes affecting its electoral performance.

However, party leaders believe Ezenwafor’s candidacy offers a fresh opportunity to rebuild structures, unite members, and regain credibility among voters.

His campaign team has consistently projected him as a bridge-builder capable of reconciling warring factions and presenting a united front ahead of the polls.

Ezenwafor’s manifesto emphasizes key areas including education reform, economic diversification, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and security.

He promised to prioritize technology-driven governance and policies that directly address unemployment and poverty.

According to the document, special attention would also be given to rural communities, many of which have complained of neglect in the past decade.

Political observers note that Anambra’s governorship election will be keenly contested, with the ruling APGA determined to retain power, while the Labour Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are also fielding formidable candidates.

Against this backdrop, the PDP sees Ezenwafor’s candidacy as a strategic chance to reconnect with the grassroots and reposition itself for victory.

Supporters at the manifesto unveiling carried the campaign slogan, “PDP Is Coming With Joy,” which they said reflected the hope that a PDP-led administration under Ezenwafor would bring relief after years of political and economic challenges.

The manifesto rollout is expected to be followed by extensive town hall meetings and grassroots consultations across Anambra’s 21 local government areas.

Campaign officials insist that Ezenwafor’s message will resonate with voters, especially the youth, who are seeking transparent and accountable leadership.

For now, the PDP believes its message of joy and restoration will set the tone for what promises to be one of Anambra’s most competitive elections in recent years.
