Moghalu slams Soludo’s performance, vows to recover Anambra with Labour Party

(DDM) – Labour Party governorship candidate Dr. George Moghalu has sharply criticized the outgoing Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, declaring that his administration has failed to meet the expectations of Ndi Anambra.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Moghalu, while recounting a recent meeting on Saturday with Soludo where they exchanged pleasantries, acknowledged that the governor had made efforts since taking office.

However, Moghalu insisted that the efforts were “clearly not good enough” for a state that requires serious governance and visionary leadership.

According to him, most of the roads awarded under the Soludo administration are either poorly constructed, already failing, or abandoned entirely.

He lamented that the quality of education in Anambra has dropped drastically, citing reports from various examination bodies as evidence.

On insecurity, Moghalu said the reality on the ground is far worse than what is reported, disclosing that his cousin was kidnapped in Nnewi only three days ago and remains in captivity.

The Labour Party candidate pledged to bring seriousness into governance if elected, promising to replicate the discipline and commitment with which he handled past public offices.

“I am very conscious of the judgment of history,” he declared, urging Ndi Anambra to evaluate his record in previous positions of responsibility.

He stressed that leadership should be based on results and accountability, not empty rhetoric or unfulfilled promises.

Moghalu assured that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him, promising to prioritize security, infrastructure, and education.

He rallied support from Ndi Anambra under the slogan #RecoverAnambra, presenting his campaign as a rescue mission to redirect the state toward progress and sustainable development.

Political analysts note that Moghalu’s comments reflect growing dissatisfaction among Anambra citizens with Soludo’s administration, especially in rural areas where infrastructure deficits remain glaring.

Observers also point out that the Labour Party, buoyed by its rising grassroots influence since the 2023 general elections, could pose a significant challenge in the forthcoming governorship race.

Moghalu’s criticism of Soludo mirrors a broader national trend where outgoing governors face intense scrutiny from opposition candidates seeking to capitalize on public frustration.

As the campaign season approaches, Ndi Anambra will weigh the outgoing governor’s record against the promises of his challengers, setting the stage for a fierce political contest.
