Delta Man Requests ₦12 Billion Loan From Tinubu For Housing

(DDM) — A Delta State resident, Emmanuel Efayeta Kuejubola, has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking a ₦12 billion federal loan to finance an ambitious housing and agricultural initiative designed to combat poverty across Nigeria.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Kuejubola, a native of Okpavuerhe-Olomu community in Ughelli South Local Government Area, outlined a comprehensive plan to construct 3,000 affordable housing units, beginning with an initial phase of 400 units on 400 acres of land in Delta State.

According to Kuejubola, the project, which combines low-cost housing and agro-development, aims to stimulate rural employment, enhance food production, and provide educational support for disadvantaged families.

He promised that the initiative would generate over 3,000 jobs during its implementation phase while funding free education for 1,000 underprivileged Nigerians through project-driven revenue.

In his letter, Kuejubola described the proposed ₦12 billion facility as an investment in Nigeria’s grassroots innovation, pledging to repay the entire amount within 36 months through housing sales and agricultural output.

He appealed to President Tinubu to consider the request under his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that empowering ordinary citizens to drive development would accelerate national transformation.

“I believe this project aligns with your government’s vision to create jobs, promote affordable housing, and fight poverty,” Kuejubola wrote.

“Your support will not only help transform Delta State but also serve as a model for inclusive development across Nigeria.”

Kuejubola, who describes himself as a self-funded innovator and community mobilizer, stated that his proposal includes provisions for modern farm settlements, irrigation systems, and integrated skill-training centers for youths and women.

He noted that beyond housing, the project seeks to ensure food security through the cultivation of staple crops and the establishment of processing facilities for sustainable income generation.

Reactions to Kuejubola’s open request have flooded social media platforms, with Nigerians divided over the feasibility of the ₦12 billion loan.

While many praised his audacity, creativity, and patriotism, others questioned whether such a large unsecured loan would be practical without collateral or government partnership.

Some commentators commended him for publicly sharing a vision centered on self-reliance rather than political patronage, calling it a challenge to the elite-driven development model that often sidelines innovators at the grassroots level.

Others, however, argued that the proposal highlights a deeper issue, the lack of structured funding access for small innovators and independent developers seeking to contribute to national growth.

Development analysts who spoke to DDM described Kuejubola’s initiative as a potential pilot project for community-driven housing if backed by technical and financial oversight.

They noted that Nigeria’s housing deficit, currently estimated at over 28 million units, requires creative partnerships between government, private investors, and citizens willing to take bold steps.

Kuejubola concluded his letter by reaffirming his commitment to transparency, accountability, and local empowerment, insisting that his proposal represents a new model of “citizen-led development” that could inspire nationwide change if supported by the presidency.

His words: “We cannot wait for foreign investors alone. Nigerians must build Nigeria. I am ready to prove that with your support.”

As the letter circulates online and draws national attention, observers are watching closely to see whether President Tinubu’s administration will acknowledge or engage with Kuejubola’s unconventional, but visionary, grassroots funding request.
