A dramatic scene unfolded in Abuja on Monday as soldiers reportedly blocked Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and FCTA officials from accessing a disputed piece of land.
In a video circulating online, a visibly frustrated Wike expressed his disapproval, stating, “We cannot continue to act with impunity, we cannot continue this way, we cannot continue this way in the country.”
He criticized the unnamed Rear Admiral linked to the property, questioning why someone of his stature did not approach the FCT authorities to resolve the matter amicably but instead deployed soldiers to the site.
The standoff created significant tension as Wike remained firm in his attempt to inspect the property, but the soldiers refused to grant access.
After multiple failed attempts to enter, the Minister eventually left the location, accompanied by FCTA officials and security personnel.
