Nigerian music executive Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has issued a stern warning to an 𝕏 user impersonating him online.

DDM gathered that the fake account recently misled followers by posting a message promoting a supposed giveaway under Don Jazzy’s name and image.

Don Jazzy addressed the impersonator directly from his verified account, calling on them to immediately cease using his identity.

He emphasized that any promotional activities or giveaways should be conducted under the impersonator’s real name and personal photo, not his own.

The music mogul also cautioned that legal consequences could follow if the impersonation continues, advising the individual not to claim victimhood if arrested.

He wrote, “Good evening sir/ma. Don’t you see how using my name and image on this account looks dodgy. You can do your giveaways with your own name and pic if you really want to help people. Don’t say they are bullying you if you get arrested o. I come in peace.”

According to DDM sources, this incident highlights the growing issue of social media impersonation in Nigeria, where high-profile figures are often targeted by fake accounts for fraudulent schemes.

Industry observers note that impersonation not only damages personal reputations but also misleads fans and followers, sometimes leading to financial loss or exploitation.

Don Jazzy’s warning is also a reminder that authorities and social media platforms increasingly take such violations seriously, with potential civil and criminal liabilities for impersonators.

In recent months, several Nigerian celebrities have publicly confronted impersonators who used their identities to run fake contests or solicit money, emphasizing the importance of vigilance online.

Experts advise social media users to verify accounts before participating in giveaways or promotional activities, especially when the account claims affiliation with public figures.

This latest development reinforces Don Jazzy’s commitment to protecting his intellectual property, reputation, and fans from deceptive online practices.
