JUST IN: Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum Accuses President Of Corruption Scandal

Share this:

(DDM) – Stakeholders and founding members of the Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum have raised serious allegations against the outgoing President of the Forum, Mr. Nicholas Odozor, accusing him of gross misconduct, bias, and violations of constitutional provisions following the expiration of his tenure in August 2025.

In a strongly worded press statement dated December 15, 2025, the group expressed deep disappointment over what they described as Mr. Odozor’s failure to uphold the responsibilities entrusted to him as president of the youth body.

According to the statement, Mr. Odozor was granted a four-month grace period after the expiration of his tenure to conduct elections and ensure a smooth leadership transition, but allegedly failed to demonstrate commitment or seriousness toward fulfilling this constitutional obligation.

The stakeholders alleged that during his tenure and after its expiration, Mr. Odozor engaged in acts of misconduct including embezzlement and misappropriation of Forum funds, dishonesty, betrayal of trust, and deliberate disregard for the Forum’s constitution.

They further recalled that even before officially assuming office, Mr. Odozor allegedly acted as president by collecting funds on behalf of the Forum, an act they described as serious enough to warrant impeachment.

Despite this earlier infraction, the stakeholders said they chose to overlook the issue in good faith, hoping his administration would improve, a decision they now regret.

The statement also demanded clarification from Mr. Odozor over a recent claim that he met with Nsukka Youth stakeholders and mobilized individuals to represent Igbo-Etiti youths, insisting that no such mandate was ever given.

They demanded that Mr. Odozor publicly disclose the identities of those he allegedly mobilized, stressing that any such representation was unauthorized.

Further allegations accused Mr. Odozor of conniving with Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwu, identified as a member of the electoral committee for the forthcoming Nsukka Youth General Assembly election, and Mr. Ugonna Nwodo, a presidential aspirant in the same election.

According to the stakeholders, the trio allegedly created a separate WhatsApp platform aimed at causing division among Igbo-Etiti youths and undermining internal unity.

They also accused them of labeling former Forum president, Comrade Arthur I. Eze, as an “opposition figure” simply because of his interest in contesting the Nsukka Youth General Assembly election.

The statement referenced a voice note allegedly made by Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwu, in which threats were issued against Comrade Arthur, warning that he would be labeled opposition and dealt with.

Stakeholders expressed concern that instead of convening a meeting of all Igbo-Etiti aspirants to explore a consensus candidacy, Mr. Odozor allegedly chose a divisive approach that further polarized the youth body.

They issued a public warning advising individuals, organizations, and institutions to exercise extreme caution in dealing with Mr. Odozor, stating that he no longer has the authority to transact or represent the Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum.

They emphasized that any meetings, discussions, or agreements he claims to have held, particularly with Nsukka Youth stakeholders, are null and void and do not reflect the Forum’s position.

The statement further accused Mr. Odozor’s administration of unprecedented leadership failure, noting that youth development initiatives suffered neglect and that his tenure recorded no tangible achievements.

As a response, the stakeholders and founding fathers announced plans to convene an emergency meeting to set up an independent committee to oversee free, fair, and transparent elections, as well as ensure a proper handover to new leadership.

They reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to integrity, accountability, unity, and youth empowerment, urging members to remain vigilant and united during the transition process.

The press release was jointly signed by Comrade Stan Ifedilichukwu Ugwu, Hon. Amechi Okoro, Comrade Ekene Agbowo, Comrade Joshua Anene, Ikemefuna Onah, Ominye Emmanuel, Comrade Nnaemeka Ugwu, Dr. Stephen, Hon. Ogbobe Chidera, and Comrade Okpunwa Etheltharth Uchenna.

Copies of the statement were also forwarded to the Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Nsukka Youth General Assembly stakeholders, Enugu State youth stakeholders, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Youth Matters, the Ogbede Police Division, and members of the Enugu State House of Assembly representing Igbo-Etiti East and West.
