Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of betraying the party and the people by abandoning PDP amid a political crisis.

Factional Caretaker Chairman Dr. Nname Ewor alleged Fubara agreed to terms with President Bola Tinubu, including not seeking re-election, but failed to honor them.

Ewor claimed Fubara defected to APC after another agreement with Tinubu, and now boasts of Tinubu forcing Assembly members to pass the 2026 budget and Nyesom Wike supporting his re-election.

The PDP called on Fubara to disclose the agreement terms, saying “the mandate he is holding was given to him by Rivers people”.

He said: “The mandate Fubara is holding was given to him by Rivers people, and all his actions and inactions affects all those whose mandate he is holding.

“Therefore, it is incumbent on him at this material time, to disclose to Rivers people the terms of the peace agreement he entered with Tinubu before the emergency rule was lifted.

“This will enable rivers people to make informed decisions,” he said.

The party had approached the Supreme Court over the State of Emergency declaration and accused Fubara of misleading members to attend the PDP Convention in Ibadan.

Ewor also claimed Fubara has aligned with Wike’s call for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
