Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has sounded the alarm, stating that Nigeria is in a critical state and needs immediate attention.

He emphasized this during a colloquium marking his 60th birthday, expressing disappointment that the country hasn’t lived up to its potential.

Tambuwal believed Nigeria has strayed from its founding fathers’ vision, and those who contributed to its democratic foundation would be disheartened by the current situation.

He stressed that the event wasn’t about personal celebration but about reflecting on Nigeria’s state and finding solutions.

“It’s about good governance, not about me or partying. It’s about finding a way forward for our country. We’re not where we expected to be,” he said.

Tambuwal called for collective action, urging Nigerians to acknowledge the country’s governance issues.

He emphasized that rebuilding Nigeria is a shared responsibility, not just for politicians, but for all citizens.

“We have nowhere else to go. We must stay in Nigeria and do the right thing to get the right leadership,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to promoting good governance.
