(DDM) — The Lagos State Waste Management Authority has stepped up enforcement efforts against illegal cart pushers in Lagos, as part of ongoing measures to curb indiscriminate waste disposal and improve environmental sanitation across the state.
The agency confirmed that at least one suspect has been arrested during recent operations targeting individuals engaged in unauthorized waste collection and dumping activities. Officials say the crackdown is aimed at restoring order to the state’s waste management system and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
According to LAWMA authorities, illegal cart pushers have continued to undermine structured waste disposal processes by dumping refuse in drains, road medians, and other unauthorized locations.
