JUST IN: Iran Declares Hormuz Closed Again Amid US Blockade

Iran has reimposed restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz, citing what it described as repeated “breaches of trust” by the United States, in a move that raises fresh concerns over global energy supply routes.

The announcement was made by Iranian military officials shortly after the country had earlier declared the key shipping lane open following a ceasefire in the region.

Authorities said the passage of vessels would now be subject to strict supervision by Iranian armed forces.

According to Iranian officials, any navigation through the Strait of Hormuz would be considered invalid if the US continues its naval blockade targeting Iranian ports.

A military spokesman said only a limited number of oil tankers and commercial vessels had been allowed to pass, accusing Washington of engaging in “maritime violations” under the guise of enforcement actions.

US President Donald Trump has maintained that the naval blockade will remain in place until a comprehensive agreement is reached with Tehran.

The renewed restrictions come amid uncertainty over the next round of negotiations between the two countries. Iranian sources have indicated that fresh talks could take place soon, although US officials have not confirmed a date.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high in the region despite a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, with both diplomatic and military developments continuing to shape the fragile security environment.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital artery for global energy trade, with a significant portion of the world’s oil and gas shipments passing through the narrow waterway. Any disruption to its operations is likely to have immediate repercussions on international markets.
