Nigerian preacher and marriage counselor Funke Felix-Adejumo has sparked conversations online after sharing candid advice to married men about balancing responsibility and self-preservation in relationships.
The founder of Agape Christian Ministries stated that men should not exhaust themselves financially or emotionally in an attempt to fully satisfy women, noting that such expectations can often be unrealistic.
According to her, “no one, not even God, can completely please a woman,” as she pointed to evolving beauty standards, including the use of artificial nails, eyebrows, and hair, as examples of ever-changing desires.
She urged men to remain responsible providers but warned against going to extremes that could harm their well-being.
At the same time, the relationship expert encouraged women to pursue financial independence, stressing that self-sufficiency strengthens relationships rather than weakens them.
Citing her personal experience, Felix-Adejumo revealed that she once gifted her husband 60 presents on his 60th birthday and even surprised him with a Prado SUV, demonstrating that women can also contribute meaningfully in marriage.
Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions across social media, with some agreeing with her perspective on balance and responsibility, while others debated her generalisation about women.
The conversation continues to highlight broader discussions around gender roles, expectations, and financial dynamics in modern marriages.
