Nigerian actor and producer Kunle Remi has opened up about the emotional toll social media is taking on him, revealing that he has recently considered stepping away from Instagram due to its overwhelming nature.
According to the actor, logging into the platform has become increasingly exhausting, as it is often filled with heartbreaking news, negativity, disrespect, and toxic interactions. He admitted that the constant exposure to such content can weigh heavily on his mental and emotional well-being, making the experience less enjoyable than it once was.
Despite these challenges, Remi explained that completely leaving social media is not an easy option for him. Beyond acting, he now views himself as a brand, a storyteller, and an influencer whose presence online plays a significant role in his career. This reality, he said, keeps him connected to the platform even when he feels drained by it.
The actor noted that during difficult moments, he tries to remind himself of the positive aspects of his life, including the joy, love, and meaningful stories he still has to share with his audience. However, he acknowledged that engaging on social media lately has felt emotionally overwhelming.
Using his experience as a point of reflection, Remi urged social media users to be more mindful of their interactions online. He emphasized the importance of kindness and positivity, encouraging people to spread love rather than contribute to negativity. According to him, maintaining hope and uplifting one another has become more important than ever in today’s digital space.
