Army Refutes Allegations Of Owing Soldiers, Insists Troops Are Fully Paid

MAIDUGURI, BORNO STATE – The Headquarters, Theatre Command, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, has dismissed a viral video circulating on social media alleging that Nigerian soldiers are being owed allowances and subjected to intimidation within the ranks.

Military authorities described the claims as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to undermine the morale of troops engaged in ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the North-East region.

The Nigerian Army, through its theatre command structure under Operation HADIN KAI, clarified that all duly entitled allowances and salaries for personnel remain fully paid and regularly processed in line with established military financial procedures.

Military Dismisses Viral Video Claims

The Army said the viral video, which suggested non-payment of troops’ allowances and alleged internal intimidation of a soldier, does not reflect the true situation within the ranks.

Officials explained that such content is often circulated by individuals or groups seeking to misinform the public and create distrust between troops and military leadership.

They maintained that the welfare of soldiers remains a top priority, particularly those deployed in high-risk operational zones across the North-East.

Focus On Troop Welfare And Morale

Military authorities reiterated that the Nigerian Army continues to prioritize the welfare, motivation, and operational readiness of its personnel engaged in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations.

They added that allowances, benefits, and entitlements are processed through approved channels and disbursed in accordance with military regulations.

The Army cautioned members of the public against sharing unverified information capable of undermining national security operations or demoralizing serving personnel.

It urged Nigerians to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates regarding military operations and personnel welfare.
