Nollywood actress and African Action Congress governorship candidate for Abia State ahead of the 2027 election, Doris Ogala was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, after reportedly collapsing on Friday.

Reports accompanied by a video circulating online indicated that the actress lost consciousness during a consultation earlier in the day.

She was subsequently attended to by medical personnel and stabilised before later updating supporters on her health status through her Instagram page.

“I was rushed to FMC Umuahia. I lost consciousness. Glory to God I am stabilised now,” she wrote on Instagram, captioning a video of her at the health centre.

Footage from the hospital showed Ogala seated in a wheelchair while interacting with patients and healthcare workers.

She was also seen praying alongside some patients during her visit to the facility.

Ogala recently secured the African Action Congress ticket to contest the 2027 Abia State governorship election, where she plans to challenge the incumbent governor, Alex Otti.

Her political message has centred on people-focused governance, economic development and employment opportunities.
