Popular Nigerian hair vendor and influencer Bo Hairs has reportedly been robbed at gunpoint at her Lagos residence, with the incident allegedly involving her nanny.
Bo Hairs, whose real name is Oluomachi, reportedly lost cash, gold jewellery and luxury watches during the robbery, with the total value of the items allegedly running into about $70,000.
Recounting the frightening experience, the hair entrepreneur said the armed robbers demanded her valuables and ordered her to lie down.
“I was told to bring my Rolex and go and lie down on the bed. I was asked to bring all the dollars and gold I had in the house, and I gave them everything,” she reportedly said while narrating the incident.
According to reports circulating online, suspicions later fell on Bo Hairs’ nanny after CCTV footage allegedly captured behaviour that raised questions about her involvement before the robbery.
The footage reportedly showed the nanny peeping through windows and behaving suspiciously around the residence. She was subsequently arrested in connection with the investigation.
However, reports claim the nanny later escaped from custody, adding another twist to the case.
Bo Hairs had reportedly defended the nanny initially, suggesting that she did not immediately believe the woman could have been involved in the robbery. The hair vendor has now reportedly said she is leaving the matter in the hands of God and the relevant authorities.
The alleged incident has sparked conversations online about the security risks faced by people who keep valuable items and large amounts of cash in their homes.
It has also renewed warnings about the importance of carefully vetting domestic staff, particularly as household workers may have access to information about a family’s routines, movements and possessions.
