The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of 2025 Direct Entry (DE) application sales.
Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that the sale of DE application forms will officially begin on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
This announcement follows the successful completion of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process.
JAMB confirmed that UTME registration started on February 3, 2025, and officially closed on March 8, 2025.
A total of 2,030,627 candidates successfully registered and are now eligible to sit for the UTME examination.
The UTME examination is scheduled to take place on April 25, 2025.
This registration figure does not include candidates who registered at foreign examination centers.
Additionally, 200,115 candidates expressed interest in taking the optional mock UTME.
The optional mock UTME is scheduled for April 5, 2025.
Among the applicants, 630 candidates specifically registered for the trial mock examination, which will also be held on the same date.
JAMB confirmed in its weekly bulletin that preparations for the examinations are now in full swing.
The board has implemented several measures to prevent malpractice and examination fraud.
“These measures have already led to multiple arrests of candidates using forged A-level results,” JAMB stated.
Candidates have been warned against engaging in any form of dishonest practices.
JAMB emphasized that strict penalties await candidates who submit fraudulent applications.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s public communications advisor, explained the importance of Direct Entry registration.
He stated that Direct Entry (DE) is for candidates with degrees, diplomas, or A-level certificates.
“The commencement of DE sales follows the successful conclusion of UTME registration,” he added.
JAMB recorded 2,030,627 UTME registrations, 200,115 mock UTME registrations, and 630 trial mock applications.
To maintain examination integrity, JAMB will verify all A-level certificates.
A special committee will scrutinize all Advanced A-level results.
Candidates who submit forged results will face legal prosecution.
Institutions are advised to independently verify certificates before considering applicants for admission.
JAMB emphasized that DE registration must be done at approved JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRCs).
Candidates must adhere to registration guidelines and provide only authentic information.
With examinations approaching, candidates should prepare thoroughly and avoid malpractice.
