According to Diaspora digital media (DDM), Trump made the statement during a Cabinet meeting held at the White House on Thursday.

Musk was present at the meeting and reportedly smiled and nodded at the president’s remarks.

Despite the denial of any formal role, Trump expressed admiration for Musk’s achievements.

“Elon has done a fantastic job,” Trump said.

“I don’t need Elon for anything other than I happen to like him,” he added.

Trump revealed he recently purchased a Tesla vehicle.

He described the purchase as a gesture of support for Musk.

“I don’t need his car,” Trump said.

“I actually bought one.”

“They said, ‘Oh, did you get a bargain?’”

“No. I said, ‘Give me the top price.’”

“I paid a lot of money for that car.”

Trump did not specify which Tesla model he bought.

He also did not say whether it was customized.
