In a bold move, Mosra Energy Ltd has begun rehabilitating damaged sections of the Onicha-Ugbo to Issele-Uku road in Aniocha North.

Aniocha North is a local government area located in Delta State, Nigeria, known for its vibrant communities and rich cultural heritage.

This region is characterized by its picturesque landscapes, welcoming people, and a deep sense of tradition that is reflected in its festivals and daily life.

The area plays an important role in the agricultural production of the state, contributing to Nigeria’s diverse and robust economic tapestry.

Visitors to Aniocha North can experience a blend of both rural and urban life, offering a unique perspective on the coexistence of modern development and traditional customs.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that this intervention follows discussions held two months ago with the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye.

The repair work is part of Mosra Energy’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to communities within the council.

The road, which links several vital towns in the area, had become a nightmare for road users due to years of neglect.

For years, residents and commuters have decried the state of the road, with little or no meaningful government intervention.

Now, a private company is stepping in to do what the government should have addressed long ago.

Hon. Emma Chinye, in collaboration with Mosra Energy, is delivering quick relief to road users through these palliative measures.

The company had earlier begun work on mitigating a dangerous gully erosion site also threatening lives and farmlands.

That erosion control effort marked the first sign of the unfolding partnership between the council and the energy firm.

These community-focused projects are part of a broader package reportedly brokered by Hon. Chinye for the benefit of Aniocha North.

Among other components, the package includes a soon-to-be-launched youth empowerment initiative.

This programme will train youths in vocational skills and provide support for entrepreneurship.

It is aimed at curbing unemployment and building self-reliance among young people in the area.

Aniocha North, located in Delta State, includes key towns such as Issele-Uku, Onicha-Ugbo, Idumuje-Unor, and Ubulubu.

The LGA is largely agrarian but suffers from poor infrastructure and limited government presence.

The efforts of Mosra Energy appear to be filling a vacuum left by official authorities.

Critics have questioned why corporate bodies now shoulder basic responsibilities while governments remain inactive.

For many residents, these CSR projects are welcome, but also a reminder of governmental failures.

The council’s media team insists these achievements reflect Hon. Chinye’s leadership vision and negotiation strength.

According to his Senior Media Assistant, Sochi Churchill Okolo, more community benefits are expected under the ongoing partnership.

He noted that the road repairs are only a glimpse of larger plans being implemented for Aniocha North.

Residents say even temporary road fixes significantly reduce travel risks and improve trade activities in the LGA.

For them, this initiative provides not only hope, but also questions about governance priorities.

As Mosra Energy machines work steadily along the Onicha-Ugbo/Issele-Uku route, one question looms large where is the government?
