JUST IN: Malami Resigns from APC, Joins ADC

In a major political shift, Abubakar Malami, SAN, resigned from the ruling APC and joined the ADC, citing specific reasons.

He signed a formal letter, stating that a strong sense of responsibility compelled his decision.

He emphasized his choice did not stem from personal ambition or anger.

Malami pointed out that pressing national issues like insecurity, economic hardship, and governance failures prompted his move.

Furthermore, he expressed grave concern about the country’s worsening security situation, especially in the northern region.

He highlighted the prevalence of banditry, kidnappings, and terrorism, which he said have become daily realities for many Nigerians.

He criticized the government for prioritizing political interests over the safety and well-being of its citizens.

Malami stated that the government has abandoned its primary responsibility of protecting lives and property.

Instead, it is distracted by propaganda and political issues. Meanwhile, Nigerians continue to suffer from this neglect and lack of support.

The former minister expressed concern about the economy, highlighting that rising living costs leave families struggling to meet basic needs.

Consequently, many families face difficulties, and economic challenges deepen.

Additionally, he pointed out that job losses and limited opportunities make young people feel hopeless about their futures.

As a result, youth unemployment and lack of prospects intensify societal frustration and despair.

Malami criticized the government’s focus on governance, claiming officials prioritize political loyalty over national interest.

He argued that appointments, projects, and policies are now mainly driven by loyalty rather than merit or public well-being.

Additionally, he declared, “I cannot remain part of a system that watches in silence as Nigerians suffer and die,” highlighting his strong disapproval.

His statement underscores his stance against the current leadership’s neglect of citizens’ suffering.

Malami explained his decision to join the ADC by describing it as a platform founded on justice, inclusion, competence, and national renewal.

He believes that the ADC, along with its coalition partners, can provide Nigeria with a vital alternative.

Furthermore, he confidently stated that, together, they can confront major challenges and chart a new, promising course for the nation’s future.

To Kebbi State’s people, Malami pledged, “I remain your son and servant. I will never abandon you.”

He emphasized that his move aims to amplify their voices, protect their interests, and restore hope for a better future.

Malami urged Nigerians to rise above fear, work together, and reclaim the nation.

He concluded with the belief, “Nigeria belongs to all of us,” inspiring unity and resilience.

This resignation signifies a notable shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, as Malami joins a growing group of prominent politicians seeking alternatives to the APC before elections.

Consequently, political analysts will watch closely to see how this decision influences his career and impacts Nigeria’s broader political dynamics.
