Trump Blasts Putin, Sends Missiles to Ukraine

In a fiery outburst at the White House, President Donald Trump lashed out at Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of talking “bullshit” about the war in Ukraine and vowing to send more American weapons to Kyiv.
“We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth,” Trump said during a televised cabinet meeting on Tuesday. “He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.”
The blunt remarks signal Trump’s growing frustration with Putin, following a tense phone call last week that reportedly yielded no progress on the long-stalled Ukraine peace plan.
Although Trump faced backlash for appearing cozy with Putin early in his second term, he reversed course this week.
On Monday, he confirmed that the United States will resume arms deliveries to Ukraine, despite halting some shipments last week.
“Putin is not treating human beings right. He’s killing too many people,” Trump said. “So we’re sending some defensive weapons I’ve approved that.”
Patriot Missiles and Pressure on Pentagon
According to reports from Axios, Trump authorized the immediate shipment of 10 Patriot missile interceptors to help bolster Ukraine’s air defenses against Russia’s increasingly aggressive drone and missile strikes.
He also called on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to ramp up arms production, telling him:
“We have to step them up, Pete, and let them make it at a much higher rate.”
When asked about proposed new Senate sanctions on Russia, Trump said:
“I’m looking at it very strongly.”
Kremlin Pushback and Ukraine’s Plea for Air Defenses
Moscow didn’t respond directly to Trump’s profanity-laced remarks. But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized the renewed US arms transfers, saying:
“These actions do not align with efforts to promote a peaceful resolution.”
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv will intensify talks with the US on air defense, urging rapid implementation of political promises.
“We now have the necessary political statements and decisions. They must be implemented to protect our people,” Zelensky said.
Russia Claims New Ground in Dnipropetrovsk
As the diplomatic tension deepens, Russia claimed it captured the village of Dachne in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region an area long considered outside Moscow’s territorial claims.
Ukraine denies the claim. Its military said it repelled multiple Russian attacks near Dachne and insisted that no Russian foothold exists in the region.
Military analyst Oleksiy Kopytko described the situation as “difficult” and suggested Russia hopes to create a buffer zone to stretch Ukrainian forces.
“Our troops are holding their ground quite steadily,” Kopytko said.
