Tragic Loss: Nigerian Singer Zuwa of Roze Duo Shot and Killed in the U.S.

In a shocking turn of events, the Nigerian music scene mourns the loss of Osazuwa Agbonayinma, widely known as Zuwa, one-half of the popular music duo Roze. The talented singer met an untimely end after being shot and killed in the United States of America on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his father, Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, a former Nigerian lawmaker, in a conversation with Channels Television. The grief-stricken father revealed that Zuwa, who held a master’s degree in Architecture alongside his musical pursuits, fell victim to a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head.

Zuwa, in collaboration with his brother Eghosa, formed the duo Roze and left a lasting impact on the music industry. They released several songs, with their 2020 hit, ‘Ileke,’ receiving critical acclaim.

The music community and fans alike are left in shock and sorrow over the tragic demise of Zuwa, a promising talent whose contributions to the Nigerian music landscape will be remembered. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, leaving friends, family, and fans grappling with the sudden loss of a vibrant artist.
