JUST IN: 37 ADC Chairmen Endorse Mark Amid Party Crisis

All 37 African Democratic Congress (ADC) state chairmen, including the FCT chair, have declared full support for David Mark.

They met in Abuja with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to strengthen party unity and leadership trust.

Despite growing speculation about internal power struggles, the meeting aimed to address rising concerns and foster unity.

According to ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi, the gathering was not about sidelining anyone or hijacking the party structure.

Instead, he said, “We invited all chairmen to reassure them and to clear the air about false rumours.”

He emphasized that the interim leadership remains committed to an inclusive process and state chairmen are vital stakeholders.

“They are not being sidelined,” he added. “They are central to building a stronger and united political force.”

The meeting follows public concerns by former presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu, who questioned the leadership’s legitimacy.

However, Abdullahi responded quickly, saying, “A presidential candidate isn’t a party officer and cannot declare a process illegal.”

He challenged anyone doubting the transition to provide proof or pursue legal steps through the party’s internal system.

“So far,” he noted, “no member has officially disagreed with the reorganisation process or filed a formal objection.”

Furthermore, Kingsley Ogga, who chairs the ADC State Chairmen Forum, gave a clear message of full loyalty.

He leads the Kogi State chapter and said, “We fully support David Mark and the ongoing coalition movement.”

Although the party is still reorganising, the chairmen expressed increased confidence after the closed-door meeting ended.

They now appear more united, ready to reposition ADC as a formidable force ahead of the 2027 elections.

Meanwhile, party insiders say the coalition drive is gaining momentum despite criticism from some former candidates.

They stressed the need to build a broad, inclusive alliance that can challenge the dominance of ruling parties.

In conclusion, ADC’s leadership says this renewed unity will serve as the backbone of its 2027 electoral strategy.
