Family members who died in autocrash

A devastating auto crash claimed the lives of six family members who were returning from a funeral in South Africa.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 14, 2025, along the R42 Meyerton-Heidelberg Road when their vehicle, a white Ford Focus, collided with a truck.

The victims were identified as David Khehla Malindi, 68, Anna Malindi, 61, Mhlanganisi Malindi, 35, Phindile Malindi, 33, Xolani Bocibo, 27 and Lwandle Malindi Tshabalala, 3.

The family had attended a burial in KwaZulu-Natal and was headed back home to Unitaspark in Vereeniging, Gauteng province, when the tragic accident occurred.

The impact of the crash has been felt deeply in the local community, with many expressing their condolences and calling for improved road safety measures on the busy road.

According to a reliable source, the victims, all from Unitaspark in Vereeniging, Gauteng province, were buried on Saturday, July 19, 2025 following an emotional ceremony attended by devastated relatives, friends, and community members.

The family had been returning from a funeral in KwaZulu-Natal when their vehicle, a white Ford Focus, collided with a truck along the R42 Meyerton–Heidelberg Road at about 15:30 on Monday afternoon, July 14, 2025.

The loss has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many expressing their deep condolences and calling for improved road safety measures on the busy road.

In a similar incident, a Nollywood actor and four family members died in a car accident in Asaba while returning from a burial.

However, details of this incident are still emerging.

Road accidents have been a persistent problem in various parts of the world.

For instance, a fatal crash on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway in Borno State, Nigeria, claimed nine lives, including three children, and left seven others injured.

The accident involved a Toyota Hummer bus operated by Borno Express and a commercial trailer. Speeding was identified as the primary cause of the crash .
