Olu Of Warri, Atuwatse DeadThe Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II is dead.

According to an online news portal thewill, the Atuwatse died in a Lagos hospital on Friday adding that the Olu of Warri, likely died from a brain injury he suffered after falling from the stairs of his Warri residence.  

Atuwatse, who had also suffered a stroke recently, was due to have surgery at the Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos, where he was transported to when he passed on, the sources said.

At least two prominent traditional rulers from the Oduduwa dynasty have died this quarter. The Oni of Ife, Okunade Sijuwade, who died in a London hospital a few weeks back, after a brief ailment and the Olu of Warri. The fate of the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba Erediauwa, who has not been seen in public for months remains unclear till this day.
