Obahiagbon, Effiong React To N3 Billion Covid 19 Payout By President Tinubu

Inibehe Effiong, human right lawyer and activist, and former House of Reps Member, Patrick Obahiagbon, have separately reacted to confirmation by the presidency that it actually sanctioned N3 billion payout for Covid 19 palliates, three long years after pandemic, through the office of Chief of Staff, saying that those initially denying the fact not in tune with development in the country.

A document, signed by Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu, had written the office of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the approval for the said money as Covid 19 palliative fund.

Covid 19 pandemics ravaged the globe three years ago and by and large, Nigeria and the global communities appear to have recovered from it.

Presidency, through Bayo Onanuga, Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, said that the fund was requested for under former President Mohammadu Buhari but was released by Tinubu to help in poverty alleviation.

But reacting to presidency confirmation on the memo, Effiong expressed disappointment at those denying the payment before now.

“The same memo that political hoodlums on X have been insulting themselves in the name of defending the government has been authenticated.

“Shameless and wicked people who do not wish Nigeria well. They asked how can a lawyer post fake document bla bla bla.

“Did the man whose signature appear on the memo disclaim it?

“Who told these sycophants that every discrepancy in signature is automatic proof of forgery?

“These are very wicked people who will rather see Nigeria burn to the ground than see their preferred thieves lose political power,” the lawyer said.

But Obahiagbon on his X handle was utterly chagrined at the said money being paid out and he expressed his sentiment in his usual bombast.

“read this news with derisive cachinnation. 3bn for what??

“This is an insult to the sagacity of  perspicuous Nigerians who can clearly discern this tarradiddle.

“We deserve more than this government of incorrigible prevaricators and malevolent snollygosters. Fix up!” Obahiagbon said.
