ILORIN, KWARA STATE – Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Emir of Ilorin, have jointly led thousands of residents and visitors at the 2026 Kwara Durbar held in Ilorin, a major cultural festival that showcased the rich heritage of the ancient city.

The colourful event attracted large crowds from within and outside the state, as traditional horse riders, cultural troupes, community groups, and dignitaries gathered to celebrate one of the most prominent cultural festivals in Northern Nigeria.

The Durbar, which is traditionally held during significant Islamic festivities, featured a grand procession led by the Emir of Ilorin, accompanied by prominent chiefs, titleholders, and horsemen dressed in elaborate regalia symbolizing the emirate’s long-standing traditions.

Governor AbdulRazaq also participated in the event, joining royal fathers and cultural leaders in the procession as thousands of spectators lined the streets to witness the display of heritage, unity, and communal pride.
