Adamawa APC primary: We were waiting for collation when winner was declared — Aspirant

Mr. Abdulrahman Haske, a governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Adamawa State, has faulted the conduct of the exercise, alleging irregularities in parts of the process.

In a statement, Haske said there was no collation in some local government areas and that his team did not have access to the collation process before the winner was announced.

“It was surprising that while we were waiting for the collation of the votes to happen, what happened to our greatest surprise was the declaration of the winner. We have our data and we would consult and state our position over the weekend,” he said.

He said transparency and fairness were important in party primaries.

“The integrity of the process is as important as the outcome. Transparent and inclusive procedures remain essential to sustaining trust and confidence within the party,” he said.

He urged his supporters to remain calm while consultations continue with party leaders and stakeholders on the next step to take.

“As responsible democrats, we are engaging widely to review the exercise and explore all legitimate avenues available to us,” he said.
