Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Dr. Ike Ekweremadu discussing with Senator Binta Masi Garba
Senator Binta Garba of Adamawa North Senatorial District has lamented recent attack on her entourage by some youths in Mubi town.
It was gathered that Garba who was in Mubi to pay homage on the emir and launch her empowerment programme for the people of the area which form part of her constituency was forced to bolt out by some youths who defied security men to harass the senator and her entourage.
The senator had to abandon her mission in Mubi and proceeded to Michika after seeing the emir briefly.
Apart from the harassment by youths believed to be sponsored, the senator was said to be denied access to Mubi government lodge by the Mubi North Local Government Council.
Speaking on the development, Garba who said the matter was being investigated described it as unfortunate.
“What happened in Mubi is rather unfortunate. Investigation is still going on; I wouldn’t want to hold anybody responsible.
When the security agents finish their findings, the culprit will definitely be brought to book,” Binta said.
