The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke for his visit to Chief Bisi Akande.

The party described the visit as a desperate attempt to seek political refuge amid the crisis over reinstated local government officials.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) revealed that APC accused Adeleke of trying to secure a soft landing from Akande after his controversial actions against opposition party members.

The Osun APC Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, issued a statement condemning the governor’s recent moves.

According to APC, it was shocking that Adeleke sought reconciliation after his alleged role in political violence across the state.

The party alleged that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) thugs, acting on Adeleke’s body language, were responsible for deadly attacks on APC members.

APC stated that the killing of Hon. Remi Abass, a reinstated APC council chairman in Ikire, was linked to Adeleke’s supporters.

The party also claimed that opposition members in other parts of the state face similar violent attacks from PDP-affiliated groups.

APC questions Adeleke’s motives

The Osun APC questioned the real reason behind Adeleke’s visit to Chief Akande, calling it a move of desperation.

The party insisted that Akande, a respected democrat, would not betray his party’s interest for political compromises.

“Does Governor Adeleke expect Pa Akande to praise him after his role in the killing of APC members?” APC asked.

The opposition party said Adeleke’s visit was misdirected since the proper place to seek redress was the Supreme Court.

After the February 10, 2025, Akure verdict, the governor should have pursued legal remedies instead of backdoor negotiations.

APC accused Adeleke of trying to manipulate political processes rather than addressing the real governance challenges in Osun State.

The party claimed that the governor’s actions were aimed at deceiving the people and avoiding accountability for his past directives.

Adeleke’s visit seen as political desperation

The Osun APC stated that Adeleke’s visit to Chief Akande signified a loss of political control and direction.

According to APC, Adeleke’s actions showed he was struggling to find alternative solutions after losing key political battles.

The party compared the governor’s desperation to a thief pleading with the rightful owner to surrender their property.

APC said Adeleke’s reluctance to approach the Supreme Court indicated that he lacked confidence in his legal claims.

The opposition party insisted that only lawful means, not political maneuvering, could resolve the ongoing political logjam.

APC maintained that Adeleke was attempting to use political connections to escape the consequences of his controversial decisions.

The party warned that Osun people would not fall for what it described as the governor’s deceptive tactics.

APC urged the governor to abandon political distractions and focus on delivering good governance to the state.

APC advises Adeleke to cooperate with reinstated chairmen

The Osun APC advised Adeleke to work with the reinstated local government chairmen and councillors for the state’s development.

The party said it was time for the governor to accept the political reality and move forward in the interest of Osun.

APC called on Adeleke to stop political battles and focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The party emphasized that Osun residents deserved peace, stability, and good governance instead of unnecessary conflicts.
