Artist Alexandra Grant has shared insight into what keeps her relationship with Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves strong, pointing to one key principle mutual respect.
In a recent interview with People, Grant, 53, revealed that she and Reeves, 61, have built their bond by giving each other the freedom to fully immerse themselves in their individual creative pursuits.
“You want always to be respectful and leave the other person to bake their cake,” she said, explaining how they intentionally allow space for one another to work without interference.
Grant described Reeves as thoughtful and considerate, especially when offering feedback during visits to her studio. She noted that this respect goes both ways, as she also understands when to step back and let him focus deeply on his craft.
According to her, one of the foundations of a healthy relationship is recognising when your partner needs space to “dive deep” into their work, even if that means spending time apart or working in silence.
