Asake’s father express happiness

Fatai Odunsi, the father of renowned Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has on march 16 2025 express his happiness.

In an interview with Aki Abolade better know as Mrlilgaga he started that his son has agreed to purchase him a house, settle his medical bills, and support his daughter.

Odunsi, also known as Malo, has been left partially paralyzed due to a stroke and has been struggling with mounting medical expenses.

In a viral video shared on Thursday, he publicly appealed for help, calling on Nigerians to urge Asake to offer assistance.

This came amidst claims by Asake’s alleged baby mama, Adijat, who accused the singer of neglecting both her and their daughter, Zeenat.

During an interview with digital creator  Mrlilgaga, Mr Odunsi expressed his relief, noting that Asake had agreed to address all the concerns raised.

Speaking in Yoruba, Odunsi conveyed his pride in his son, offering blessings and prayers for his success.

He went on to explain that his decision to speak out was due to the long period of time since he had last seen Asake.

“He (Asake) has said they should look for a house that he will buy for me

“and they have been looking for it since yesterday (Saturday).

He has started doing it,”

Odunsi shared in Yoruba, in a video posted on Instagram by @Mrlilgaga.

“I’m proud of him,” he added when asked if he felt pride for his son.

“He will not be unfortunate, nothing will happen to him, and he will not go down.”

Odunsi also elaborated on the reason for his frustration,

stating,“It was because I had not seen him in a long time.

“His mother ought to ask him, ‘When was the last time you saw your father?’

“That was what infuriated me but we have settled everything.

There is no fight anymore,”

He continued, singing in proverbs to convey that their issues had been resolved.

“He has reached out to me and he has said he will do everything I wanted,”

Odunsi reassured, again singing to indicate that everything was now in harmony.

Criticism on Asake

Asake had faced criticism over the weekend as fans and residents of the Isale Eko area in Lagos expressed disappointment over his perceived neglect of his ailing father.

A viral video on Friday featured Odunsi, who claimed that he hadn’t seen his son since 2022.

When his health began to deteriorate, he emphasized that despite Asake’s success, he had not received financial support.

In response, Asake posted a cryptic and emotional message on TikTok, singing in Yoruba, “You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world.

But anything you are doing, just do it for God.

My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him.

I have struggled for so many years, but they want to make life tire me.”

Amid the growing drama, Asake’s family broke their silence, not only addressing the allegations but also accusing him of neglecting his daughter, Zeenat, and her mother.

They called on Asake to take responsibility for his father’s wellbeing and expressed willingness to undergo a DNA test.

The test will be taken to confirm the paternity of 11-year-old Zeenat.

A woman in the video appealed directly to Asake, saying,

“I’m begging you, Ololade Mr Money.

“He should come and do the needful.

“Even if Nigerians donate N10bn to this man,

“just N1m from Asake would make him happier.

“Please take care of your father. If you don’t want to support him directly,

“buy him a house in Isale Eko where he can earn rent income to survive.

“In this Isale Eko, you can see a house of N40m,

“N50m that you can build so that this man can be collecting rent.

“Also, if you are in doubt about Zeenat, the mother has agreed to a DNA test.”

Asake’s Baby mama speaks up

The situation took another turn on Saturday when a woman named Adijat, claiming to be Asake’s baby mama.

Adijat has accused the singer of abandoning their 11-year-old daughter.

According to her, she had supported Asake financially during his university days.

She added that Asake had blocked her after his rise to fame when she attempted to reach out for his involvement with their child.

“I have an 11-year-old daughter for Asake. Before he became famous I always supported him.

“I sent him all my savings when he was at the University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).

“Asake used to call me to thank me for standing by him,

“but now I have tried to reach out to Asake but he starts saying that I am forcing myself on him.

“He even said if I continued to disturb him, he would block me on all his socials like WhatsApp,

“and after Asake got famous, he sent N1m to me and his daughter,” Adijat shared during a TikTok live session.

When asked about Asake’s plans for the daughter during Sunday’s interview, Odunsi confirmed that the singer had agreed to take care of her.

“He (Asake) has said he will take care of her,” he stated.

“Yes, Asake has accepted the child”

When further asked if Asake had accepted the daughter, Odunsi responded, “Yes, he has accepted her.

He will take care of the child,” adding that he had never been irresponsible as suggested on social media.

Meanwhile, Asake’s actions have earned praise from several netizens on TikTok, who lauded the artist for his commitment to supporting his family.

One user, @Arinola2505, prayed, “Asake, God will bless you. (Your) children will also compete to pamper you too.”

Another, @tactec002, commented, “Wow! Asake, I am very proud of you, you are the true son of your father.”

Other comments, including @nigeriaCNN, showed support for Odunsi,

while @armakod congratulated Asake, wishing him continued success.

@luv4twins shared a sentiment about fathers asserting their rights in such situations, writing,

“It’s the right time for all the fathers to fight for their rights from their rich kids or else some mothers will not let them do anything for their father till he dies.”
