Bauchi governor celebrates Patience Jonathan’s academic triumph with heartfelt tribute

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has congratulated Dame Patience Jonathan on her recent academic achievement.

She was awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree in Educational Psychology, Guidance, and Counselling by Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

The congratulatory message was issued on Sunday by Mukhtar Gidado, Governor Mohammed’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Governor Mohammed praised the former First Lady for her dedication to education and her unwavering service to humanity.

He described the honour as a fitting recognition of her lifelong contributions to national development and social progress.

Dame Patience Jonathan is the wife of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and served as Nigeria’s First Lady from 2010 to 2015.

She has long been an advocate for women’s and children’s rights, promoting education and healthcare for vulnerable populations.

Before becoming First Lady, she built a respected career in education and public service.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology (Education) from the University of Port Harcourt.

Governor Mohammed highlighted her humility, compassion, and patriotic spirit as key qualities that continue to inspire Nigerians.

“Your Excellency, this achievement is not just a personal milestone, but a national celebration,” he said.

He noted that the doctorate reflects her relentless pursuit of knowledge and commitment to an informed, inclusive society.

The governor applauded her dedication to women’s empowerment and her influence on the younger generation.

He stated that her legacy is deeply rooted in promoting justice, equity, and educational advancement.

Mohammed prayed for divine blessings, good health, and strength for the former First Lady and her family.
