Martins Iyeh has become the first housemate to leave the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house after just two weeks in the reality television competition.
The 30 year old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State was evicted during Sunday night’s live show after viewers’ votes determined which of the nominated housemates would continue their journey in the competition.
His departure came only two weeks after he was introduced to millions of viewers as one of the 24 contestants selected for the 11th season of the popular reality show.
The latest edition of BBNaija premiered on July 26, 2026, under the theme “Everything Is For The Taking,” with the additional title “Show Ya Sef.” The season comes with a record prize package of N160 million, including N100 million in cash and an SUV for the eventual winner.
Martins entered the house with a background in creative work. He was introduced as a creative director, visual storyteller and model, bringing a personality built around creativity and visual expression to the competition.
He also identified basketball as one of his interests and playfully listed mind reading among his supposed hidden talents, giving viewers an early glimpse into the personality he hoped to bring to the show.
At the beginning of his BBNaija journey, Martins made it clear that he wanted to enjoy the experience. Rather than presenting himself as someone who had come into the house with an overly complicated strategy, he told viewers that his main objective was to have fun and make the most of the opportunity.
“I came here to have fun,” he said during his introduction.
However, his time in the house proved to be much shorter than he may have expected.
The second week of the competition produced a large group of housemates facing possible eviction. Sixteen contestants were initially placed at risk, creating one of the biggest eviction pools of the early stage of the season.
Head of House Sheba subsequently saved Chimsom Chuka, while Aikou and Flora remained protected as the season’s Gambits. With the remaining contestants dependent on the public vote, Martins was ultimately unable to secure enough support to remain in the competition.
His eviction means that the other housemates will now have to continue without him as the season moves into its next phase.
For Martins, the experience may have lasted only two weeks, but his appearance on the show has already introduced him to a much larger audience than he had before entering the Big Brother house.
BBNaija has become one of Nigeria’s most recognisable reality television programmes, with housemates often using the platform to build careers in entertainment, business, fashion, media and other creative industries.
