(DDM) – Leaders of the North Central zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have unanimously adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement reflects a strong show of unity among key political stakeholders across the region in support of the President’s re-election ambition.

The decision was reached during the APC North Central Zonal Congress held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Party officials disclosed that the resolution followed extensive consultations among governors, lawmakers, and other influential figures within the zone.

The congress also produced new zonal executives through a consensus arrangement, which was affirmed by a voice vote.

This method aligns with the pattern earlier adopted at ward, local government, and state congresses of the party.

The event witnessed the presence of prominent APC members, including serving governors, former governors, senators, ministers, and party leaders.

Delegates and grassroots mobilisers from Benue, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Kwara states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, were also in attendance.

Observers described the gathering as one of the largest zonal political meetings held by the party in the North Central in recent years.

The endorsement signals growing consolidation within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political analysts suggest that early endorsements such as this could shape internal party dynamics and influence other regions.

Supporters at the congress expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and his administration’s policy direction.

They argued that continuity in governance would help sustain ongoing economic and political reforms.

The consensus decision also highlights the party’s strategy of avoiding internal divisions ahead of a crucial election cycle.

However, analysts note that broader national acceptance and coalition-building will remain key factors in determining electoral success.

The development is expected to trigger reactions from opposition parties and other political stakeholders.

As preparations for 2027 gradually intensify, such endorsements are likely to play a significant role in shaping the political landscape.

The APC leadership has yet to make a formal nationwide declaration, but the North Central position adds momentum to the President’s potential re-election bid.
