LAGOS – The Zion Prayer Movement outreach has announced the commencement of a global 100-day fasting and prayer programme designed to strengthen spiritual growth, deepen faith, and encourage believers to seek divine intervention through worship and prayers.
DDM gathered that the spiritual exercise will begin on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with the opening theme titled “The Overriding Power of Praises.”
The organisers explained that the first day of the programme will focus on the spiritual significance of praise as a powerful means of prayer and divine connection.
The ministry cited scriptural references including Joshua 6:15–21, 2 Kings 3:9–20, and Judges 7:15–22 to emphasize the importance of praise in achieving victories and breakthroughs.
According to the message released by the ministry, praise is described as an uncommon form of prayer that never fails because it attracts the direct presence of God.
The ministry stated that praise serves as an invitation that God does not reject or dishonor.
It further noted that sincere and effective praise brings divine manifestations, miracles, signs, wonders, and supernatural breakthroughs.
The message explained that when individuals praise God, divine intervention comes in extraordinary dimensions.
The teaching also highlighted biblical examples where praise brought dramatic changes and victories.
The ministry referenced the account of the Israelites in Joshua chapter six, explaining how the walls of Jericho collapsed after the people raised praises and shouts of joy before the Lord.
According to the teaching, the priests carried the Ark of the Covenant and blew trumpets while the people praised God, leading to the destruction of the heavily fortified walls.
The message further pointed to Luke 19:37–41 during Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
It stated that while people openly praised Christ, some individuals attempted to discourage the worship.
The scripture was cited as showing Christ’s response that even stones would cry out if human beings remained silent.
The programme also highlighted Acts 16:25–26 where Paul and Silas reportedly prayed and sang praises while imprisoned.
The teaching explained that their worship attracted divine power, causing the prison foundations to shake and opening prison doors.
Another biblical example mentioned was Judges 7:15–22 involving Gideon and the Israelites.
The ministry stated that Gideon instructed his men to blow trumpets and raise shouts in praise during their battle against the Midianites.
According to the message, confusion entered the enemy camp and victory was granted to the Israelites.
The ministry emphasized that praise has the power to lift burdens, bring healing, deliverance, open doors, and release unexpected blessings.
The message encouraged participants to maintain gratitude and praise in all situations, referencing the instruction contained in 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
Prayer points released for Day One included praising God for His goodness, thanking Him for life and family, appreciating His blessings, and praying for the ministry and its Spiritual Director, Evang. Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi.
The organisers expressed confidence that participants in the 100-day programme would experience spiritual renewal, victories, and testimonies throughout the period of fasting and prayer.
