BREAKING:Ondo State thrown into a state of mourning as Oluwatuyi Tayo, Secretary to Ondo State Government Is dead.

Oluwatuyi who was appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in January 2024 died on Saturday morning 3 January, at an undisclosed hospital.

In December, reports emerged that Oluwatuyi was involved in a car accident along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway. The vehicle he was traveling in reportedly veered off the road and into the bush. The late SSG, who sustained injuries in the crash, was subsequently rushed to the intensive care unit of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State. Less than 2 months from the period he’s dead.

Ondo State is currently thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Mr. Olugbenga Ale, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), who passed away on January 3, 2025. He was a key figure in the administration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and had been instrumental in the state’s governance and policy execution.

The cause of death is believed to be a brief illness, though details have not been fully disclosed

Governor Akeredolu expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Tayo Oluwatuyi as a “dedicated and hard-working servant of the people” whose contributions to the state’s progress would be forever remembered.
