US-based Nigerian rapper Onome Onokohwomo, popularly known as Yung6ix, has joined growing public reactions to the recent abduction of school teachers and pupils in Oyo State, calling for urgent action from the federal government.

In a video shared online, the hip-hop artist stressed that the primary responsibility of any elected president is to protect the lives and property of citizens.

According to him, leadership goes beyond economic policies, contract awards, and government borrowing, insisting that security remains the most important duty of the presidency.

Yung6ix stated that if the current administration is unable to ensure the immediate rescue of the kidnapped victims and curb rising insecurity, then citizens have every right to demand accountability, including calls for resignation.

“My own take is this: if Tinubu cannot bring back those kids and those teachers, then the Tinubu-Must-Go movement must start. The job of the president is not the job of a layman. A president is someone who can protect a nation,” he said.

He further criticised the government’s approach to leadership, arguing that governance should prioritize human security rather than political interests.

“If you cannot protect our nation, Nigeria, Oga, just leave. It simply means you cannot do the job. The job is not just about borrowing money and allocating contracts to your friends and all of that,” he added.

His comments have since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians divided over his stance, as discussions around insecurity in the country continue to intensify.
