Veteran entertainer and activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has taken to social media to back Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over the ongoing face-off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Charly Boy made the remarks on his Instagram handle on March 12, 2025, wherein he lambasted Senator Akpabio.

The development follows Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s decision to report him to the United Nations over alleged sexual harassment.

Charly Boy expressed his frustration over the state of Nigeria’s leadership, criticising the political class and calling out those in power.

He wrote on Instagram:

“Many men dey fear strong women, not me, am attracted to them, and have learned from dem.
“Many women dey suffer for dis country because many men believe if dey are rich enough dey can oppress any woman as dem like because it’s a man’s world.
“Let dem be deceiving themselves.
“Yes, I dey live in Nigeria, but God forbid for me to let the nigerian way live in me.
“I dey see how the system dey run people down, especially women wey get mind to stand for truth. But make I tell una—truth no dey die.

“I stand with Natasha”

Addressing the Senate President, Charly Boy continued tongue lashing Akpabio, saying:

“Instead make dem use their position to better people life, dem go dey cover anyhow behaviors.
“Natasha don carry this matter go UN, and I support her fully.
“100%, If dem no gree hear truth for here, make dem hear am there.

“Because if we no fight now, then we dey tell the next generation say silence na the answer.
“But we no go silent.
“Not me…
“I stand with Natasha.
“The question is, do you?
“Dia Fada’s”.

The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan escalated after the Senate suspended her on allegations of “unparliamentary conduct”.

Many, including Charly Boy, believe this move is politically motivated and tied to her accusations against Akpabio.

Natasha’s suspension came shortly after she publicly accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, a claim that has sent shockwaves across the media.

Rather than addressing her allegations, the Senate swiftly took disciplinary action against her, fuelling suspicions of a cover-up.

However, Natasha did not back down; she took her complaints to the United Nations on March 11, 2025.

Actor backs Charly boy

Nollywood actor Emeka Nwagbaraoch also backed Charly Boy, weighing in on Natasha taking the case to the UN.

He also wrote on his Instagram handle, @Emeneks:

“Natasha has refused to remove her hand from his neck! Very Whaat??? Very Good!!!
“Plus iron plus teeth No breathing space.

“Natasha has refused to remove her hand from his neck.”
