Zenith Bank customers in Nigeria have, since October 1, 2024, expressed frustration with the bank after the institution went under for three days.

The customers said they faced significant disruptions, experiencing difficulties with transaction processing.

Earlier on Tuesday, the bank took to its social media handle, X (formerly Twitter), to announce the disruption that might occur due to its routine maintenance of technological infrastructures.

The disruption according to them was to be between 12:01 AM and 2:30 PM WAT on Tuesday.

According to people interviewed by Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), as at today, October 3, this issue has not been in any way rectified as customers still experience failures in their transactions.

This inability to process transactions at the bank has had far-reaching effects on many Nigerian business owners.

A Zenith Bank customer, Mr. Ifeanyi Elo, when interviewed, was very furious with the bank’s management.

According to him, he made two transfers from his Keystone Bank corporate account to his Zenith account.

None of the said transactions, however, has reflected on his Zenith Bank account as at the moment of this report.

Another customer, Mr. Seun, surname withheld, expressed his dissatisfaction, saying he has lost many customers.

Seun said he couldn’t allow customers to transfer into his account since there is no way to verify the payment.

Also, Mr. Tobi Shiyanbola, on his Twitter handle said: “There is no way on earth Zenith Bank shouldn’t be penalized by Central Bank for this atrocious act.”

He said it has been over three days and one cannot access funds.
