Diddy Allegedly Caught Using Cell Phone in Prison Amid Claims of Special Treatment
Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly come under fresh scrutiny after footage emerged appearing to show the incarcerated music executive using a cell phone inside the federal prison where he is serving his sentence.
NBC News reportedly obtained and released footage showing Combs sitting at a table inside Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey while holding what appeared to be a cell phone and attempting to make a call.
The footage was released on Tuesday, September 29, alongside a report based on accounts from multiple inmates who reportedly served time with the music mogul.
According to the inmates cited in the report, Combs has allegedly used his wealth and influence to obtain privileges and items that are prohibited inside the facility. The claims include access to massages, nude photographs and alcohol, including Hennessy.
The sources also alleged that other inmates have been cooking for Combs and doing his laundry during his time behind bars. They further claimed that he has had access to contraband cell phones and tablets, which were allegedly used to access social media and watch movies.
One of the claims involved Combs reportedly watching Sean “Diddy” Combs: The Reckoning, the documentary about his life and legal troubles produced by 50 Cent.
The allegations, however, have not been independently established, and Combs’ representative pushed back against the attention surrounding his life in prison.
In a statement to ABC News, the representative said the continued scrutiny of Combs’ prison life had turned ordinary details into news, arguing that the main development was that he remained incarcerated while awaiting the outcome of his appeal.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons also acknowledged that contraband remains an ongoing challenge within correctional facilities.
“Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities,” a spokesperson said.
The reported footage and inmate allegations have added another layer of attention to Combs’ time in federal custody as he continues his legal proceedings.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence following his conviction on prostitution-related charges. He is reportedly scheduled for release on January 21, 2028, although the timing could be affected by developments in his appeal.
