Drama as Okpebholo Teases Adeleke Over His Dancing Style

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has stirred reactions online after taking a swipe at Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over his well-known love for dancing.

Speaking during a recent outing, Okpebholo mocked Adeleke’s energetic personality, joking that the Osun governor seems to dance at every opportunity—even before carrying out official duties. He humorously added that while traveling into Osun State, the poor condition of the road made it feel like even their car tyres were “dancing and shaking.”

Adeleke, often nicknamed the “dancing governor,” has built a public image around his lively and expressive nature, frequently seen dancing at events, celebrations, and even official functions. While supporters see it as a sign of relatability and joy, critics sometimes question whether it reflects the seriousness expected of a public office holder.

Okpebholo’s remarks appear to tap into that ongoing debate, blending humor with subtle criticism. His comment about road conditions also hints at governance concerns, suggesting infrastructure challenges in the state.

As expected, the statement has triggered mixed reactions. Some Nigerians found the comment funny and relatable, turning it into memes and jokes online. Others, however, felt it was unnecessary political banter and argued that leaders should focus more on governance than personal jabs.

The exchange highlights how personality-driven politics continues to shape public discourse in Nigeria, where style, perception, and performance often become as talked about as policy and development.
